The World Cup may be over for another 4 years but sponsored videos around the event are still reaching millions of online viewers. Along with food and drink, and luxury travel content, two videos in Tubular’s Global Sponsored Videos Leaderboard feature FIFA related content. Hyundai Worldwide partnered with FIFA World Cup to reach 3.5M Facebook views with the goal of the tournament from Benjamin Parvard, the French wunderkind who scored that incredible goal against Argentina in the quarter finals.

Every possible angle from the tournament has been squeezed to generate as much online viewership and engagement as possible, with the ‘Goal of the Tournament’ being just one marketing event that continues to draw in the views. At number 10 in the chart, EA SPORTS FIFA sponsored a video published by Real Madrid CF’s page promoting the new soccer game, due to be released in September. It generated 1.6M extra sponsored views for the brand.

Food and cocktail related content claimed 4 spots on the chart with 16M combined Facebook views for Frank’s RedHot, Captain Morgan, Lidl UK, and Don Julio Tequila. These sponsors are reaching audiences through creative storytelling with partners expert in content creation and audience activation such as BuzzFeed’s Tasty and Proper Tasty, and Twisted. For the second week in a row, AirBus have teamed up with Business Insider to show us how the other half live when it comes to taking the luxury option when travelling by air. A glimpse into a gilded world generated an impressive 4.5M Facebook views for AirBus and I’m sure we’ll see more videos in this partnership in the weeks to come.

Between the 22nd and 28th of July 2018, 3,606 brands sponsored 7,709 videos that were directly uploaded to brand partners channels and pages on YouTube and Facebook.. These are the top 10 ranked by views generated in the first 3 days (V3). Sponsored video volume is growing rapidly as brands try to find alternatives to ad blockers and “on my phone while the TV ad is playing” culture. As the industry leader, Tubular publishes a weekly leaderboard on who’s winning in the world of sponsored video. Our DealMaker product tracks thousands of sponsored video campaigns from global brands and media companies. Congrats to all of the brands and publishers featured this week!
