Here’s a little Monday fun for everyone, so take a three minute break from your early work week and watch one of the most anticipated trailers of the year–maybe ever. It’s the trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, the final film in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy with Christian Bale. After the incredible success of The Dark Knight, the final sequel is expected to be one of the biggest films of 2012. And now you can watch the trailer.

Go ahead… watch it… what are you still reading for?

That is one incredible trailer, and it gives a hint at the huge scale of the film… the scope is going to be grand. If you saw the Sherlock Holmes sequel, which I did… well, I’m sorry for you… but also, you saw this trailer. But the rest of the world has been waiting for it on pins and needles.

And now it’s finally here.

Last night I went with ReelSEO’s own Chris Atkinson and saw the new Mission Impossible film on IMAX. (It was great… really, really fun). And before that film there was a 6-minute prologue for The Dark Knight Rises, with an extended Bane-centric scene. There are versions of this prologue online, and if you search hard enough you can find them, but I wouldn’t recommend it. They’re shakey-cam cell-phone videos, and most are being quickly pulled offline. Besides, the experience of seeing it on the big screen was so intense, I doubt even a regular online version would do justice to the movie’s size and stakes.

The trailer is going to go massively viral. It’s at 313 views right now, in frozen-YouTube-counter mode. But it’ll have hundreds of thousands pretty quickly. I have no idea if it’ll be pulled down. It’s available in 720p, and it looked pretty darn good to me, but I do think the studio would release a 1080p version, so watch it now… while you can. I’ll try and update if the link gets removed or changed.

Judging just on the trailer and the prologue, I think The Dark Knight Rises will be phenomenal. But enough about me, what do you think? Watch The Dark Knight Rises Trailer online… right now… by clicking play above. And then let me know in the comments below.
