You may have noticed that Samsung’s new smartphone, the Galaxy S5 has been released, and video marketing has been a huge part of its marketing campaign. The trailer videos have attracted huge numbers on YouTube but Samsung has also turned to Vine to promote the launch. Their UK-focused Vine is a fantastic take on those awful, yet brilliant, 50’s B-movies and it works really well as a 6-second clip. Elsewhere, Marmite take on Vegemite in the war of the yeasty spreads, Charmin reminds us just how handy their product is, no matter where we are, and Home Depot gear up for the DIY season. As the release of the Galaxy S5 rolls out across the world, Samsung UK announces the arrival of the new smartphone in Great Britain with this very entertaining stop-motion clip. ‘Attack of the 50 foot mobile phone’, in cinemas soon no doubt. Oh, and the note about it not being to scale = brilliant.
You either love Marmite or you hate it with the passion of 10,000 fires, and the company has made that mixed reaction the basis of a very successful marketing campaign for years. Depending on which side of the fence you sit, your mouth will either be watering or you will be cringing yourself inside out at the thought of a super-strength version. Here it is taking on Vegemite (which is legitimately vile) in the battle of the salty yeast spreads.
#3 Children in Need Charity
We promised there would be more Vines to come from UK charity Children in Need before its big telethon later this year. Here, we see mascot Pudsey Bear running the London Marathon (on his butt!) to raise money for the cause.
Talking of butts…..toilet tissue manufacturer Charmin assure us that no matter where we go, and how many toilets we visit on the way, it will always be there for us when we need it.
