Microsoft’s Windows Phone finally catches up with iOS and Android today with the long promised release of the Vine app on their platform. But the six second video clip creator gets some special little features just for the Microsoft smartphone like the ability to pin Vine accounts to the home screen. Vine confirms that Window’s users can also apply any of their camera’s “lenses” to capture footage taken with the app. Otherwise, it all looks pretty much the same, with the ability to create super short form stop motion videos using the front or rear facing camera, unlimited uploads and easy social sharing.

It will be interesting to see how the potential new user base will affect the Twitter owned app’s next subscriber figures. They hit 40 Million registered users in August, just 8 months after its release. The app can be downloaded now for those eager to give it a try.
