Mark Robertson, the Founder of ReelSEO, and I will be speaking in the “Next Gen YouTube Marketing” session at SES New York, which will be held at the Hilton New York during March 19-23, 2012.  Since you can read what we have to say on that topic right here, right now, why would you want to travel in time to see and hear a couple of Men in Black reveal the secrets to the universe at the largest search and social media event of its kind?

Excellent question.  The answer you’re looking for lies right here:

Actually, there are three key reasons for video marketers and producers to attend SES New York 2012: (1) to keep up-to-date with industry trends, (2) to see new products and services, and (3) to maintain and build relationships.

1.       Stay Up-To-Date

To keep up-to-date with industry trends, you’ll want to attend the opening keynote and as many of the 55 SES Conference sessions, 16 Theater Presentations, 7 training workshops, and 3 ClickZ Express Clinics as you can.

For example, you won’t want to miss the morning keynote on Tuesday, March 20, by Avinash Kaushik, the Digital Marketing Evangelist for Google and Author of Web Analytics 2.0.  His keynote is entitled “Business Optimization in a Digital Age.”

The conference agenda says, “We were promised that Marketing one day would become rocket science.  Well, we are almost there!  Search continues to become more complicated, and more exciting.  Then there’s Social and Email and Display and Video and… so many more things.  It is hard to understand how to do one thing right, much less try to do all of them right.  In his exciting keynote, Avinash will share his unique perspective on balancing multiple media channels, leveraging super awesome metrics, grounding your digital existence in driving economic value, and leveraging the Clear Line of Sight model to ensure you are optimizing across all four of the most important business drivers (come to the keynote to learn which four!).”

Now, if you could travel in time, you might be able to find out what the four important business drivers are.  Or, you could visit SESConferenceExpo’s Channel on YouTube and watch “Google Analytics Evangelist Avinash Kaushik on using your data at SES London 2010.”

2.       Discover New Products and Services

To see new products and services, visit the Expo Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 20 and 21. There are more than 40 participating sponsors and exhibitors. There will also be 16 presentations in the Expo Hall Theater and they are free to all SES attendees.

3.       To Meet New People, Forge New Business Relationships

To maintain and build relationships, go to some of the special events that are open to all SES New York attendees, including expo-only pass holders.

For example, there will be three Express Clinics in the Expo Hall which are also free for anyone to attend!  For example, I’ll be holding one on Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. entitled, Your Video ain’t Viral — YouTube Marketing Mini Critiques.”  According to YouTube, less than 30 percent of videos get 99 percent of the views on the site. So, if you haven’t succeeded in making a viral video like “The Bark Side: 2012 Volkswagen Game Day Commercial Teaser,” then you’ll want to attend this express clinic to learn important tips, best practices, and strategies.  I’ll show you how to help more people to discover, watch, and share your originally-created videos.

Or, you can go back to reading ReelSEO or Search Engine Watch.  We reveal the secrets of online video.  But, if you want to see, hear and learn the other secrets to the universe, then you will need to attend the largest search and social media event of its kind: SES New York.
