BlogWorld Expo, an industry event that we’ve been a part of for a few years, was originally focused on bloggers and podcasters. As with all things, bloggers are evolving and are becoming multimedia-oriented, content-marketing professionals. And, what’s the hottest new media format for content marketing? You guessed it, video is. With that, 2013 marks the re-branding of Blogworld to The New Media Expo (NMX) and the addition of a robust web TV and video track of panels that you won’t want to miss.
Web TV and Video Expertise @ NMX 2013
While there are several interesting topics covered at the show including blogging, podcasting, social media marketing, we’ll focus on the web TV and video tracks as that’s our M.O. here at ReelSEO. The folks at NMX partnered with the International Academy of Web Television (IAWTV) to put together the video track and we reached out to Jeff Koenig, Board Member for IAWTV and Director of Web TV & Video at NMX, to ask him about the goals for this new track:
The goal of offering a Web TV and Video track, which has been fully integrated into the event as an equal third of the show, is to create an experience where professional creators working in video can learn from some of the best in the business, and network with creators and professionals in not just the video industry but in the blogging and podcasting industries as well.
So, let’s dive into the sessions, speakers, etc…
They’ve done a great job in assembling some top Web TV and video experts to speak at these sessions including some of our friends, Jim Louderback (CEO of Revision3), The Fine Bros, Mark Malkoff, Andre Meadows (BlackNerdComedy), and almost 50 more.
Web TV/Video Track Sessions Agenda
The web TV and video track starts at 10:30 on Sunday, January 6th with “Indie vs. Studio: What’s The Latest As Web Series Go Mainstream” which features a panel including Rob Barnett from My Damn Channel, Zadi Diaz from Disney Interactive and Shira Lazar…you know her right? At the same time there’s also a talk about the legalities of it all.
Tuesday wraps up the show with tips for actors, live streaming tactics, tips for producers, a quick look at the future of digital entertainment, leveraging social media and web series and a talk about unions and guilds.
It’s a pretty robust and complete schedule and you can check out all the sessions here.
There’s value for everyone from the writer or director just starting out through the cast and crew and all the way to the producer level.
