As the year slowly draws to a close, there are some fantastic videos being released that either take a look back at the year or focus on one feature of the festive season. The first of the music compilations are out and DJ Earworm’s mash-up of the top hits of the year is outstanding. On the Christmas theme, we get a supercut of some of the most famous Crimbo scenes from the movies and everyone and their dog joins in to bring us the best version of ‘Little Drummer Boy’ this side of Bing and Bowie. Also, for your viewing pleasure, Benedict Cumberbatch does his thing which he does so well. Welcome to Fun Video Friday!

Want to know the perfect recipe for a viral video? It’s cats, cats, laughing babies, people falling, hot ladies, sleeping puppies, dancing babies, kittens, monkeys and some hot educational facts about cashew nuts to please the parents. You’ll be singing this all day.

Mental Floss guest presenter iJustine takes us on a journey through 30 game changing video games. The first video game was invented back in the 40’s (yes really) but Atari’s ‘Pong’ really put the genre on the map.

And in another round-up type video, DJ Earworm treats us to his mash-up of the year’s hits. Mixing the top 25 songs from Billboard Hot 100 to create one fantastic song, “Living the Fantasy” features everyone you’d expect but sounds as fresh as a daisy.

Enough pop, let’s have some good old-fashioned Christmas music. Played by dogs. In Christmas jumpers.

Your Supercuts of The Week

With 3 or so weeks to go, 2013 isn’t quite over yet, but we’re started to see compilations all over the shop. This supercut, from The Sleepy Skunk gathers together every major movie trailer from the past year into one for what looks like the greatest film over. Well played.

It’s the Christmas movie supercut from Screen Junkies featuring clips from It’s a Wonderful Life, Bad Santa, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, Love Actually, Miracle on 34th Street, Elf and The Muppet Christmas Carol.

And it wouldn’t be Christmas without those hideously awkward Christmas meals to look forward. Cringe yourself inside out with a look at some excruciating scenes from American Beauty, A Clockwork Orange, Citizen Kane, Wedding Crashers and Meet the Parents amongst others.
