Do you want to feel closer to Jasper Hale from Twilight?  Well, Warner Bros. is attempting to make their new web series a “social series” by including the music, pictures, and other stuff on viewers’ Facebook pages into the show.  So while you’re watching, a computer program will tiptoe into your user profile and sneak out with some goodies to put into the show to make it more personal.  Now your drunk photos and Ke$ha collection can be used for what they were always destined: as production design for an Alias-style web series produced by Charlie’s Angels director McG.

Aim High to Incorporate Fans’ Facebook Images & Playlists

Aim High stars Twilight‘s Jackson Rathbone as a high school student who is also a spy.  So in a way, this is like Alias meets 21 Jump Street, and maybe a little Buffy the Vampire Slayer since the series has that old joke about his biggest challenge being…high school.  The pictures and TV screens in the show will be filled with pictures from a viewer’s Facebook page, and the music that the characters listen to on the show will be from your playlist.  While the Reuters article doesn’t specifically say one way or another, it sounds like each person will have a different experience when watching the show, each person having his or her Facebook pictures inserted into scenes somehow, and the music you hear will be your music.

So McG and Warner Bros. are trying to make watching the series more personally tailored to your tastes, although it sounds weird that a computer program is going to select music and pictures…I guess it knows what will look right and sound right in the context of the show somehow, but I can easily see you watching an action scene and suddenly Eric Clapton’s “Tears in Heaven” starts playing.

The show debuts on Facebook at on October 18 and will run the typical web series season length of 6 episodes.  The series also stars Friday Night Lights‘ Aimee Teegarden.
