Welcome to the best Vine videos of the past week – now with a little added extra. Vine has updated its site to include information about how many times each individual Vine has been played, or looped as they call it. Loop counts highlight the amount of times a Vine has been viewed in full, on Vine and on embeds (like those below). There are more important metrics than views, but it’s a step in the right direction for the platform in terms of basic analytic data. Let’s take a look at some of the best branded Vines of the past week, and the loop counts they generated.

In this age of super hi-tech, it’s strange to see so many getting excited over some cardboard, but this is no ordinary stationery. Google has produced a DIY VR headset made just of cardboard. Users slot in their smartphone and the embedded lenses somehow magically turns the whole contraption into a type of Oculus Rift lite. Amazing, and 147K Vine loops and counting.
These kind of stop-motion clips look deceptively simple, but when you are working with something as tiny as a Skittle, it can take hours and hours to complete. Parabox created this Vine for Skittle as part of a Buzzfeed project. It’s a candy re-creation of Van Gogh’s Starry Night.
It’s always good to see a brand take a chance and create video content that’s entertaining for the viewer, but which doesn’t overtly try and sell them something. Here, Honda wish a very happy 4th of July to its followers in a very funny and quirky way.
