You may not realize it, but you are an Internet brand. Between your Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts, you are using your name to put ideas, opinions, photos, comments and more out into the webosphere. It’s actually pretty cool, yet when it comes to video content it gets a little trickier. While the go-to for your video “brand” has historically been to create your own YouTube channel, this may no longer be the best option in terms of brand exposure. The question is, would you rather be tucked away or front and center? I hope you said the latter, and if so, the TV App is the way to go. When you convert your YouTube channel into its own TV App, you’re immediately and automatically positioned as equal to the likes of mammoth networks. This usually requires minimal work that comes in the form of a quick account registration and software download. Sounds easy enough, right?
#4 It all Ads Up!
When you watch a YouTube video you’re usually exposed to some sort of 30-second video advertisement. With your own TV App, however, you could be hitting other people with an ad that’s in the form of your own video. This allows you to designate any video as a TV commercial to be automatically inserted across all TV Apps. You can also syndicate (export) your content to other people’s TV Apps, as well as reverse-syndicate (import) other people’s videos into your own.
#5 You’re in the Driver’s Seat
Ultimately, the main difference between a YouTube channel and a TV App is that you’re in control. You can choose how to position and monetize your content much better than you can through your YouTube channel. If you want to make your TV App focus strictly on beach workout videos, then more power to you. You can monetize and position your videos across the TV App industry how you see fit.
