This is one of the funnest times of the year for those who watch video. All the savvy brands out there are starting to release teasers to ads for the Super Bowl, or giving us longer versions of what we’ll see, or just outright putting the ad you will definitely see during the game, right on YouTube. So far, big brands like Coke, Mercedes, and Audi have already put some ads on display. So let’s see what we’re in for this year. This isn’t nearly the whole batch. I’m guessing next week we’ll see an official blowout of ads, but these already get me excited.
2013 Super Bowl Commercials Officially Kick Off on YouTube
It’s no surprise that an auto maker is looking to capitalize on the good looks of a gorgeous model. Kate Upton takes center stage in an ad that has been received 50/50 on YouTube so far, mainly because the title is misleading. It’s called, “Kate Upton Washes the All-New Mercedes-Benz CLA in Slow Motion,” but it’s really a bunch of dudes in football jerseys doing the actual work, which is kind of funny…but an exercise in promising one thing and delivering another:
This ad is likely to be talked about a lot. The message is clear, and it’s a darn good commercial from Audi, entitled “Prom.” There are different versions you can vote on, and this one is called “Worth It.”
Coke has also decided to go to the people to figure out how their Super Bowl ad ends, with an ad taking on a It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, or Rat Race, kind of feel:
There will probably be a landslide more ads coming out in the next week. Should be fun to watch.
